Bring Your Paints! Watercolor Demonstration by Paula Zelienka

The Carbon County Art League November 9, 2016 meeting will be featuring a watercolor demonstration by local artist Paula Zelienka. Bring supplies to paint along! Watercolors, paper and a pencil are all you need to get started. The meeting is free to attend. A brief general Carbon County Art League meeting will be held prior to the demonstration. Light refreshments served after the demonstration with time to network with local artists. This is the time to get out of the house and try something new. If you aren't up for the challenge of watercolors you can join the crowd to observe Paula's techniques and see all the great paintings that come out of the night's demonstration.

Updated November 10, 2016...

Here a few of the pear paintings that our group created with Paula Zelienka. For some of the artists in attendance it was their first time working with watercolors, others hadn't picked up a brush in years.

Paula walked our group through the process step by step adding layers of color and dimension to the paintings. Even with step by step guidance you can see the unique approach and painting technique in the artists work below.

The group also painted their own version of Paula Zelienka's scribble watercolor notecards and did an experiement with watercolor and salt to create an abstract background for a later drawing.

We encourage you to join the Carbon County Art League. Membership information can be found online. Member benefits include monthly meetings, networking with local artists and discounted entry into Carbon County Art League exhibitions.
